Surface treatment of textiles

Many textiles are naturally very water repellent, such as the untreated Cordura surface. After plasma treatment, a strong improvement in water wettability can be observed. This is especially important if textiles are to be bonded later.

Another example is the treatment of leather. After plasma treatment with the plasmabrush PB3, the leather surface has become so hydrophilic that the drop is immediately absorbed. You only see a slightly darker moistened surface.

For plasma treatment of roll material and yard goods, relyon plasma GmbH has developed the PlasmaCell P300 with Piezo Radial Source in cooperation with the Research Institute for Textile Chemistry and Textile Physics at the University of Innsbruck.
