Inactivation of Foodborne Pathogens
The group of A. Stratakos investigated the inactivation of the foodborne pathogens Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella on stainless steel after a treatment with cold plasma.
Plasma in food industry has established itself for solving the problem of possible contaminations in food processing. A decontamination of the food contact surfaces is indispensable. The foodborne pathogens Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella are common and have to be eliminated. Cold atmospheric plasma is used for the inactivation.
