Plasma in microfluidics
The ISAT – Institute of Sensor and Actuator Technology is researching in the field of acoustic sensors and actuators. Sabine Schmidt from ISAT at Coburg University reports on the use of plasma in microfluidics for connecting PDMS and glass substrate.
We have chosen the plasma handheld because it is very compact, versatile and can be used in all our laboratories without modification. The versatility is very convenient for us, as there are different application possibilities in research. In addition, the possibility of renting a device to test the suitability of the plasma handheld for your own processes is very advantageous. With the loan unit a connection between PDMS and glass substrate has been successfully achieved. In case of problems or questions during the test phase the support of relyon plasma was very helpful. The device is mainly used in microfluidics, but it is also tested to optimize manual bonding processes in other areas.
